(FR) Get to know your UN level

To illustrate the oral and written skills that are expected at the language levels UN I-Basic Level, UN II- Intermediate Level and UN III- Advanced Level, the CDOTS Language and Communications Training Unit is developing a set of video, audio, and text samples.

These examples illustrate situations in which speakers communicate in their new language at various levels of proficiency. They showcase real scenarios in the personal, public, and professional contexts, and encourage us to take advantage of our opportunities to work and live in international contexts.

The samples give us a reasonable idea of how a user can speak and write at each of the three UN levels. In fact, by showing how we can engage with others, regardless of our language level, in different situations and for different purposes, these samples bring forth the obvious: there is no need to be an "advanced" -- let alone an "expert" -- speaker to communicate or interact with someone in a shared language.

The samples of oral and written Arabic illustrate how a user of the French language can speak and write at each of the three UN levels (UN Level I, UN Level II, and UN Level III), as defined by the United Nations Language Framework. The expected release is 2024.
