Over 500 staff and guests gathered on 20 November at the United Nations Learning Centre at New York Headquarters for the inaugural UN Skills Fest—a dynamic celebration of continuous learning hosted by the Department of Operational Support (DOS). Designed to empower colleagues to connect ideas, exchange knowledge and strengthen future-ready capabilities, the event brought together participants from across the Organization, including OICT, DESA, DGC, DHMOSH, DMSPC, DPO, DPPA and DSS—creating a truly cross-functional learning experience in a rapidly evolving global context.
Throughout the day, attendees engaged in high-energy “Spark Talks” on high-impact communication, artificial intelligence, information integrity and partnership development. Hands-on activities and live demonstrations provided practical tools for decision-making under pressure, navigating difficult conversations, planning future scenarios and showcasing training expertise on iSeek. Interactive table stations highlighted leadership programmes, language and communications training, storytelling and information integrity—equipping colleagues with fresh perspectives and actionable strategies to strengthen impact across the UN system.
